## Introduction

This central management with CUE Solution enables efficient management of a large number of controllers and touch panels for projects where a large number of similar control system configurations and controlled devices are repeated. Control applications (projects) are created using CUE Visual Composer and central administration is part of the CUE Admin front-end application.

## Example

The following diagram describes a project that contains two types of rooms Type A, e.g. classroom and Type B (e.g. boardroom). Each room has its own configuration and its own CUE Visual Composer project. Both projects are uploaded to CUE Solution via the CUE Admin front-end after exporting from CUE Visual Composer. There are 10x Type A rooms and 5x Type B rooms The physical control system units installed in the rooms need to be registered in the CUE Admin application. For each room, the appropriate parameters are set in CUE Admin (typically the IP addresses of the units and controlled devices) and then the applications are uploaded to the physical units.

## Requirements:

- Cue Visual Composer **version 21** or higher
- CUE Solution **version 11** or higher.
- Check that the control system HW units you want to manage meet the minimum requirements. Some older units do not support management using CUE Solution. In **Cue Visual Composer**, you can create a project that can then be uploaded to CUE Solution. Then you can create the necessary number of **instances** from a project, typically for recurring installations in classrooms, meeting rooms, etc. You can assign specific controllers and touch panels for each instance, set parameters (e.g., IP address of the display and signal switch), and after registration, the **units automatically update their application** from CUE Solution.

The CUE Solution allows you to **manage controllers and touch panels**. You can see an overview of the units, including their status, firmware, area assignment, etc., and you can filter and edit them in bulk. Firmware in units is automatically updated to version delivered with CUE Solution.

## The usual steps of implementation:

1. Create a CVC project for a specific room type and export it for [CUE Solution](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CVCIDE/pages/1360265222).
2. In CUE Admin add controllers and touch panels in [Units section](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/469860430).
3. Create a project in [CUE Admin](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/1380876316).
4. [Create instances](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/1382187022) of this project for all rooms of the same type.
5. [Assign controllers and touch panels](https://docs.cuesystem.com/space/TAM/1382187022/Project+instances#Assigned-unit-(magic-name)) for each instance.
6. [Set specific parameters](https://docs.cuesystem.com/space/TAM/1382187022/Project+instances#Parameters) for that instance, such as the IP address of the display and signal switch.
7. [Connect the controllers / touch panels to the CUE Solution](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/16416808) (similarly to connecting the reservation  panels).
8. CUE Solution then takes care of distributing programs to the control system units, setting parameters and updating firmware in the units.
9. In CUE Solution, you can [monitor ](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/562888713)whether all units are online and functional.
