The capturing of IR data from device remoter is not the only way how to obtain IR Data.

- When pressing New in driver IR Data then there are some more options. Most important are

## Sony SIRC

The Sony SIRC alows you to specify the whole IR data by single number and choosing number of bits. 

- Press the “New” in driver IR Data and select the Sony SIRC

This information is available for SONY types of IR remote control and can be usefull. 

## ProntoEdit HEX

ProntoEdit HEX alowes to specify the IR data by series of hexadecimal numbers. These HEX codes are available on the internet for great variety of devices. Some manufacturers are also publishing these HEX codes for their products in manuals or on their web pages.

Here is example of such HEX code

- To create such command IR Data by using HEX, press the “New” in driver IR Data and select the ProntoEdit HEX

If the Hex code format is OK and copied properly, then new IR data will be accepted an you can Test such data immediately.

When creating the IrData using Hex Codes and seems that not working reliably - then always check the IR command length.

Some devices are evaluating IR codes shorter than approx. 200 ms as just IR disturbance and do not accept such short commands. Some special commands, such as Power On, require longer IR code transmissions.

- To test such data, select Test and use the check box for repeating the code until Stop IR Send is pressed.

Test the data using IR Send and Stop IR Send buttons.

If now working properly then you are facing such device and it would be necessary to repeat sending such code several times. 

- The simplest way how to achieve this - is edit the driver source code

When driver finished do not forget to export the driver for next use and backup it on CUE-cloud!
