- Create new driver by Right-click In MyProjectResources window and select Create Device.

- This will start a wizard which will create the skeleton of the new driver.

- Fill in Device, Model, Manufacturer and press NEXT,

- Type and as Connection type of port select "Serial" and press NEXT.

- Fill in the serial port communication parameters and press Finish.

- The skeleton of a new driver source code will be created and appears in the CVC working window.

- In the  tab "General" you can edit the device credentials - if needed.

- Set the driver version number to 1.00.

- To proceed select back the tab "Source Code".

- The function Init was created automatically and it holds command for communication parameter setting.

The function Init can exist in each programming module. Its' main feature is that system runtime is automatically executing all Init functions from all modules immediately after the boot.

All Init functions are executed prior the process named Main.Autoexec would be started in each CUEunit. These features of Init function are making it as an ideal place to execute the settings of communication parameters for serial driver.

Now is the time to prepare commands for our controlled device.
