Why to Use Generic Drivers

The reasons are

- Using of generic driver enables to use of **friendly names** instead of names based on controller, channel, and command names - for example, Controller1.RE1 can be replaced by a Relay driver named LightCeiling. Then command LightCeiling.Close() can be used instead command Controller1.RE1.Close().
- Drivers can also **easily reconnect** devices (for example, LightCeiling) from RE1 to another relay without changing the programming code. Only re-connection in the configuration window is required.
- This way also avoids potential errors while changing project configuration.
- These drivers allow the use of the same API functions for buttons connected to GIO and DIO channels, which have the same functionality as keypad buttons.
- These drivers allow using the same API functions for contact closures connected to GIO and DIO channels.
