There are two possible connections of CoolMasterNet device and thus there are available two versions of the driver:

- serial ….driver: **CoolMasterNetSerial**
- TCP/IP ….driver: **CoolMasterNetTCPClient**

both drivers are of the same functionality and identical features and command set.

Additionally there in the pack of CoolMasterNet drivers is a dedicated driver for HVAC Indoor Unit controlled from CoolMasterNet unit. This one can be used as an instance of each existing Indoor Unit or group of Indoor Units.

- Indoor Unit device driver: **CoolMasterNetIndoorUnit**

The Indoor Unit driver is to be connected to CoolMasterNetLine connector of either CoolMasterNetSerial or CoolMasterNetTCPclient device.

See the example in section Configuration below.

The TCPclient driver has properties allowing set the unit IP address according its actual value as well as the number of the used TCP port.

> 📝 **Important Note:  **
> 📝
> 📝 The driver: **CoolMasterNetTCPClient **is supposing that the real unit is using **fixed IP address! **– This can be achieved by different ways dependent of the available LAN network where the controller and CoolMasterNet is connected. By default the CoolMasterNet unit is using DHCP. This can be changed by using specific commands when the unit is connected either by serial or Etrhernet port.
> 📝
> 📝 For details about IP setting see CoolMasterNet manual [https://coolautomation.com/lib/doc/prm/HTML/CMNet_PRM/index.html](https://coolautomation.com/lib/doc/prm/HTML/CMNet_PRM/index.html) (command “ifconfig”).
> 📝
> 📝 For setting the CoolMasterNet Unit to fixed IP and setting TCP port there is possibility to use SetIP() command wich is using current (temporary) connection for this settings.  See section **Command Set** bellow.
> 📝
> 📝 Next possibility is to set DHCP server in the network to use fixed IP for CoolMasterNet devices.

To set the CoolMasterNet device to fixed IP with help of conneting it to some existing DHCP Lan there can be used also CVC project **SetFixIP_Vxx.cvcp **which can be found - see appendix **Using SetFixIP**.
