The description is valid for Vera Firmware 7.0.22 and Vera UI7 interface and tested with Vera Edge firmware 1.7.3014.

To set the KFOB Z-Wave hand-held remoter follow these steps:

1. Set the KFOB to work as **Secondary Z-Wave controller**!. As concerned KFOB modes and setting see the KFOB manual - the exact setting could differ according exact KFOB version and firmware.
2. To set the KFOB to mode of four separated buttons working in **Scene Activation Mode (5) **the setting in the Vera Project must be used. Thus the next step is to Include the KFOB into your Vera project and its Z-Wave network.
Include the KFOB in the “Non-Secure“-Mode.S As concerned KFOB Inclusion/Exclusion modes see the KFOB manual.  Start the learning mode of your Vera (Add Device >> HandHeld>> KFOB  …  and follow there the instructions in the KFOB manual to proceed with inclusion! (Strongly recommended to follow the instruction in the KFOB Manual and not the instruction in Vera project which can be slightly different than the one valid for your exact device…).
3. In the Vera project go to Device select the KFOB device and change the params as follows:
  Params 1, 2 to 0 and params 11-14 to 5
Where:
**Params 1** resp. 2 are used to set “ButtonMode” for buttons 1,3 resp 2,4  to mode 0 - Control uses single buttons and implements "single click", "double click", "hold" and "click hold" - in this mode, each button is assigned to a different group. Button 1 - 4 controls groups 1 - 4 respectively.
**Params 11-14** are used to set operation of buttons 1-4 in mode 5 - Direct Activation of pre-configured Scenes.
4. In the next step set 5 different association groups. Add 5 groups with ID’s from 1-5 by using “Add Group”
5. Set the association groups as described. Use the button “Set” to set the groups and choose the device “Z-Wave” in each association group.
6. Save the settings and wake up the KFOB to configure it with preset parameters. To Wake up: Press all for 4 button simultaneously on the KFOB for 1 second.(entering KFOB Management operating mode - greed led blicks slowly) Then press the button 2 shortly -to wake up the device and the configuration will be send to your KFOB.( KFOB greed led blicking quickly until finished).
7. Create a Scene
(A) Add a new scene
(B) Choose a trigger for the scene. Choose the KFOB as a trigger device.
Now choose the Button numbers which start the scene. It is necessary to set triger button numbers 2-5(instead 1-4 !!) to get actions for buttons 1-4!!  Separate scene ID is associated to each button of the KFOB.

Now the KFOB is set to start predefined scenes in the Vera controller.

There are **more possibilities** how to set KFOB to work within Vera Z-Wave network. On internet you can find some recommendations concerning setting KFOB to operate with Vera controller in little different modes:
