Commands of the _SystemKeyboard are available only in appCUE. The variable of the type _ SystemKeyboard is built-in and cannot be declared in the program. 

# Show 

This function shows the system keyboard. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Function Show(
  inittext As Text, 
  id As Long, 
  Optional type As Long := 0, 
  Optional prompttext As Text := "") 
As Boolean
```

#### Parameters 

inittext 

[<u>Text</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Text) It is the text which will be displayed when the keyboard is opened and input text is set to inittext. 

id 

<u>Long.</u> It is is identification number selected by the programmer and this number is returned as a parameter of every event. 

type 

<u>Long.</u> It is a type of keyboard. Value 1 means keyboard for input email. Value 2 means keyboard for input password. Other value means standard text. 

prompttext 

[<u>Text</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Text). It is the prompt text which will be visible on the keyboard if the inittext is empty. 

#### Return value 

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) It is True on success or False if an error occurs. The function GetLastError returns the error number. 

# OnCancel 

This event is invoked by the system when the SystemKeyboard is closed by the cancel button. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Process OnCancel(id As Long)
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Private Process SystemKeyboard_OnCancel(id As Long ) Link SystemKeyboard.OnCancel

# OnEnter 

This event is invoked by the system when the SystemKeyboard is closed by Enter button. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Process OnEnter(keyboardtext As Text, id  As Long)
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Private Process SystemKeyboard_OnEnter(keyboardtext As Text, id As Long ) Link SystemKeyboard.OnEnter 

DebugPrint(
