# AddressOf

The operator gets an address of a variable. The main usage of the operator is a declaration of language mutable resource data. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Var Name As AddressOf Text [:= Nothing] 
Property Name As AddressOf Text [:= Nothing]
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Var AddressOfName As AddressOf Text
```

#### Example: Address of a language mutable Text 

```visualbasic
Property Caption As AddressOf Text := Nothing
```

# RaiseEvent

The operator raises an event. An event is a linkage between a generated event and subsequent handling of the event. When an event is generated, an appropriate function or process is called. The function or the process contains the handling program code. 

- RaiseEvent returns True if the new process is raised, False otherwise.

- RaiseEvent returns the function's return value if the new function is raised, otherwise a zero of the function's return type.

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
[BooleanResult :=] RaiseEvent EventName([EventParameters])
```

#### Example 1: Driver code of a process without parameters 

```visualbasic
Global GraphicClass PushButton Inherits BaseGraphicClass 
  Public Event OnPush As Process() 

  Protected Function OnUp(x As Long, y As Long, eventtime As Time, isinside As Boolean) 
    // ... 
    RaiseEvent OnPush() 
    // ... 
  End Function 
  
  // ... 

End GraphicClass
```

#### Example 1: Program  code using the driver above 

```visualbasic
// when the event OnPush is being raised, this process is called 
Private Process Page1_PushButton1_OnPush() Link Page1.PushButton1.OnPush 
  // ... 
End Process
```

#### Example 2: Driver code of a process with a parameter 

```visualbasic
Global GraphicClass ToggleButton Inherits BaseGraphicClass 
  Public Event OnToggle As Process(IsDown As Boolean) 

  Protected Function OnUp(x As Long, y As Long, eventtime As Time, isinside As Boolean) 
    // ... 
    RaiseEvent OnToggle(m_IsDown) 
    // ... 
  End Function 

  // ... 

End GraphicClass
```

#### Example 2: Program  code using the driver above 

```visualbasic
// when the event OnToggle is being raised, this process is called 
Private Process Page1_ToggleButton1_OnToggle(IsDown As Boolean) Link Page1.ToggleButton1.OnToggle 
  // ... 
End Process
```

# StartProcess

The operator starts a new process. The new process and currently running process will run in parallel. StartProcess returns True if the new process started. 

The process can run only once, so it cannot be started if it is still running. StartProcess returns False in this case. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
[BooleanResult :=] StartProcess ProcessName([ProcessParameters])
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Private Process Autoexec() 
  StartProcess ReadData() 
End Process 

Process ReadData() 
  // ... 
End Process
```

#### Example of the process with parameters 

```visualbasic
Private Process Autoexec() 
  StartProcess ReadData(100, 200) 
End Process 

Process ReadData(MinValid As Long, MaxValid As Long) 
  // ... 
End Process
```

# StopProcess

The operator stops the running process. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
StopProcess ProcessName()
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Private Process Autoexec() 
  StartProcess ReadData() 
  // ... 
  StopProcess ReadData() 
End Process 

Process ReadData() 
  // ... 
End Process
```

# VariableOf

The operator gets value from an address of a variable. 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
[ValueOfVariable :=] VariableOf AddressOfVariable
```

#### Example 

```visualbasic
Var Name As Text[100] 
Var AddName As AddressOf Text 

Name := VariableOf AddName
```
