# SendTelegram

This command sends the telegram with data. The A5 type of EnOcean telegram always holds four byte data. The data for this command is specified in the parameter as one value of [<u>Long</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long) datatype.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTelegram(data As Long) As Boolean
```

#### Parameters* *

data

[<u>Long</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)  - the A5 type of EnOcean telegram holds four byte data value – the data bytes are organized in value in the following order:

(msb) DB.3 , DB.2 , DB.1 , DB.0 (lsb)

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTelegam(&H00010f9f) // sends telegram with data
```

#### Return value

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) **True** if telegram was successfully sent. Otherwise **False.**

# SendTelegramStr

This command sends the telegram with data. The A5 type of EnOcean telegram always holds four byte data. The data for this command is specified in the parameter as [<u>ByteString</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#ByteString)<u>[4]</u>   datatype.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTelegramStr(databytes As ByteString[4]) As Boolean
```

#### Parameters

databytes

[<u>ByteString</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#ByteString)  - the A5 type of EnOcean telegram holds four byte data: DB.3, DB.2, DB.1, DB.0  – the data are organized in the parameter in the following order :

databytes[1] = DB.3 , databytes[2] =  DB.2 , databytes[3] = DB.1 , databytes[4] = DB.0

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTelegamStr(&s”\00\01\0f\9f”) // sends telegram with data
```

#### Return value

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) **True** if telegram was successfully sent. Otherwise **False.**

# SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation1

This command sends the Teach telegram using 4BS, Variation1 Teach-in process – This teach telegram can be accepted by an externEnOceanean device set to Learn mode. This command can be used with receiving EnOcean Devices compliant with current EEP and Teach-in process 4BS Variation1.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation1() As Boolean
```

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTeachTelegam4BSVariation1() // sends teach telegram with current device ID
```

***Return value**** *

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) **True** if telegram was successfully sent. Otherwise **False.**

# SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation2

This command sends the Teach telegram using 4BS, Variation2 Teach-in process – This teach telegram can be accepted by an external EnOcean device set to Learn mode. This command can be used with receiving enOcean Devices compliant with current EEP and Teach-in process 4BS Variation2.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation2() As Boolean
```

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTeachTelegam4BSVariation2() // sends teach telegram with current device ID
```

#### Return value

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) **True** if telegram was successfully sent. Otherwise **False.**

# SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation3

This command sends the Teach telegram using 4BS, Variation3 Teach-in process – This teach telegram can be accepted by an external EnOcean device set to Learn mode. This command can be used with receiving enOcean Devices compliant with current EEP and Teach-in process 4BS Variation3.

As the Teach-in process 4BS Variation3 is based on two-way communication, the ID of the learned EnOcean device can be an optional parameter.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTeachTelegram4BSVariation3(Optional confirmedfromfeviceid As AddressOf Long := Nothing) As Boolean
```

#### Parameter

confirmedfromfeviceid

AddressOf [<u>Long</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)  - the optional parameter – Address of variable where the ID of EnOcean device which confirmed the successful Teach-In process will Be stored.

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTeachTelegam4BSVariation3() // sends teach telegram with current device ID
```

***Return value**** *

[<u>Boolean</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Boolean) **True** if telegram was successfully sent. Otherwise **False.**

# SendTeachTelegramUTE

This command sends the Teach telegram using a bidirectional or unidirectional UTE Teach-in process – (UTE = Universal Teach-in EnOcean). It can be used only with EnOcean Devices compliant with the UTE Teach-in process.

#### Syntax

```visualbasic
Function SendTeachTelegramUTE() As Long
```

#### Example

```visualbasic
EnOcean_Device1.SendTeachTelegamUTE() // UTE teach with current device ID
```

#### Return value

 [<u>Long</u>](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)  ID of EnOcean device, which confirmed the successful Teach-In process. Returns 0 if the Teach-In process was not successful.

# EnOcean EEP A5-xx-xx  Generic Transmitter Plugin

This plugin allows you to Teach-in or Test the telegrams transmitted by this device. The actual ID is based on the actual BaseID of the channel and IDoffset, which is the device property in the CVC project. All the actual values are displayed on the plugin page:

Send Data

testing button – sends telegram with prepared Data

The Data is to be set as four byte ByteString in hex organized as follows:

Data[1] = DB.3 , Data[2] =  DB.2 , Data[3] = DB.1 , Data[4] = DB.0

The Data ByteString can be set either to values &S”\00\00\00\08” or &S”\FF\FF\FF\FF” directly by appropriate buttons on the screen or any other value can be set by input box “Set New Data:” Note that ENTER(on a PC keyboard) must be pressed to accept the value here.
