# GetEEP

This command returns the EEP of the device object 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Function GetEEP() As Long
```

### Return value 

<u>[Long](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)</u> – EEP of the device (in range &H000000 - &H00FFFFFF) 

#### Example 

```visualbasic
myEEP := EnOcean_Device1.GetEEP() // returns EEP
```

# GetID

This command returns the actual ID of this device object instance 

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Function GetID() As Long
```

#### Return value 

<u>[Long](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)</u> – actual ID of the device (in range &H000000 - &HFFFFFFFF) 

#### Example 

```visualbasic
// returns ID
myID := EnOcean_Device1.GetID() 
```

# GetIDOffset

> ⚠️ For  **Transmitter **devices only.

This command returns the actual ID offset of the Transmitter device. The channel’s available IDs are 128 consequent values starting from the BaseID value. For all EnOcean Transmitter virtual devices, the ID is specified as **ID = BaseID + IDoffset**.  

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Function GetIDOffset() As Long
```

#### Return value 

<u>[Long](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Long)</u> – the actual value of the ”ID offset” property (in range 0 - 127) 

#### Example 

```visualbasic
myIDoffset := EnOcean_Device1.GetIDoffset() // returns ID offset 
//… 
myEnOceanChannelBaseID := EnOcean_Device1.GetID()- EnOcean_Device1.GetIDOffset()
```

# GetComment

This command returns the text of the actual Comment property  

#### Syntax 

```visualbasic
Function GetID(ByRef commenttext As Text)
```

#### Parameters 

commenttext 

<u>[Text](/wiki/spaces/CVCHELP/pages/495058958/Data+types#Text)</u>[] ByRef parameter where the actual Comment property value will be stored  

#### Example 

```visualbasic
// returns Comment property value in parameter variable
EnOcean_Device1.GetID(myCommentTxt) 
```
