> ℹ️ Customer modifications described in this chapter are valid **from version 7** of **CUE Solution**.

This chapter describes how to customize the installation of CUE Solution in customer-specific IT environments. Mostly, it concerns the proxy settings if a proxy server is used, or other security settings.

Custom modifications are implemented using the *override.json* file, which is located in *YourDisk:\Cue\NameOfYourInstallation\sites\api\wwwroot*, e.g. ***C:\Cue\Contoso\sites\api\wwwroot\override.json***

The *override.json* file is a standard text file whose content is formatted as [JSON](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSON). So for custom modifications, create a standard TXT text file, rename it to *override.json*, and copy it to the required folder.

> ⚠️ The file must have a **json **extension, i.e. be careful that it does not have a hidden **txt **extension.

The file content for supported modifications is described below.

> ℹ️ After creating and saving the *override.json* file, you need to **[stop](/wiki/spaces/Dep/pages/603488301/Basic+IIS+Administration#Start-%2F-Stop-%2F-Recycle-application-pool)**[ and ](/wiki/spaces/Dep/pages/603488301/Basic+IIS+Administration#Start-%2F-Stop-%2F-Recycle-application-pool)**[start](/wiki/spaces/Dep/pages/603488301/Basic+IIS+Administration#Start-%2F-Stop-%2F-Recycle-application-pool)**** the API pool in IIS**.

## Combination of modifications

The example modifications described here are created as if the *override.json* file contained only one modification. If you need multiple modifications, you need to put them into a single root structure according to the JSON formatting rules. An example of combining proxy settings and disabling basic authentication for CUE Admin is here.
