If your Elastic and Kibana instances uses a lot of your RAM on your server, you can limit them to only use 4GB of RAM with this steps.

- on your server stop Elastic service - open **Command Line** or **Terminal **as **administrator** in Elastic installation folder e.g. **C:\Cue\Elastic\bin\** and run this command
- in Elastic installation folder e.g. **C:\Cue\Elastic\config\ **copy** **file **jvm.options **into** C:\Cue\Elastic\config\jvm.options.d\**
- edit the file **jvm.options** in folder **C:\Cue\Elastic\config\jvm.options.d\** to contain only the following 2 lines
- start Elastic service - open **Command Line** or **Terminal **as** administrator** in Elastic installation folder e.g. **C:\Cue\Elastic\bin\** and run this command
