Create a working folder on the server on a suitable drive where the CUE Solution website will be stored and where Kibana and Elasticsearch will also be installed to process analytics.

Example: **C:\Cue**

In this folder, create subfolders Elastic and Kibana

Example: **C:\Cue\Kibana**, **C:\Cue\Elastic**

You will specify the paths to these folders later during installation.

## Set an exception for the Kibala and Elastic folders for Windows Defender

> ℹ️ **Windows Defender slows down the server very much if it monitors folders where Kibana and Elasticsearch are installed**. We have not experienced this problem with other antivirus / antimalvare programs.

Therefore, **if you use Windows Defender, specify the Elastic and Kibana folders in the Windows Defender exception so that they are not checked**. The procedure is as follows:

- Run **Windows Security** (e.g. enter Windows Security into the search box and click on the result)
- Select** Virus & threat protection**
- In the section **Virus & threat protection settings** click on **Manage settings**

- Scroll down to **Exclusions **and click **Add or remove exclusions**
- Click **Add an exclusion** / **Folder **and add Kibana and Elasctic folders to the exceptions.
