Starting with **CUE Solution version 10** and the firmware for** CUE Solution Units version 32**, an automatic firmware synchronization function is implemented in units with firmware that is supported in CUE Solution.

That is, if there is newer or older firmware in a CUE Solution Unit, it is automatically replaced by the firmware that is supported in that version of CUE Solution.

**In older versions, only firmware upgrades were supported, but not downgrades.**

If for some reason, such as testing or debugging, you need to use a different firmware version in the units than the one supported by the CUE Solution, add the following entry to *override.json*:

If o*verride.json* does not contain this section, the default value is used.

```
{
    "FirmwareDebugEnable": true
}
```

#### Parameters

FirmwareDebugEnable

true = the use of firmware other than officially supported firmware is allowed

false = firmware in CUE Solution Units is automatically synchronized with the version in CUE Solution (default)

If you disable firmware synchronization, the option “Disable synchronization of firmwares” will appear in the individual unit settings menu.

If you check this option, you can upload a different firmware to the unit and it will not be overwritten by the official firmware later. In this way, you can individually choose which units will use the unofficial, e.g. test firmware.

Upload the firmware to the unit via the [unit's admin web](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADMINWEB/pages/274825231).

> ⚠️ **Use of firmware other than officially supported ones is at your own risk and we cannot guarantee full functionality of the units.**
