# Connection

## System connection

> ℹ️ Both the controller and the touch-screen keypad must be connected to the same network.

The following sections show several liteCUE-basic **wiring options** with respect to the number of available Ethernet connections and PoE availability.

<details>
<summary>2x LAN with PoE</summary>

If a **2x LAN** **with PoE** is available for the control system, this is the simplest way of wiring as shown in the following figure.

For application upload and firmware update in both units, connect the PC to the **same **data network, either wired or wirelessly.

<summary>2x LAN no PoE</summary>

If a **2x LAN without PoE** is available for the control system, it is necessary to provide power for both units. This can be solved by using two [https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRODUCTS/pages/490012788](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRODUCTS/pages/490012788) as indicated in the following figure.

<details>
<summary>1x LAN with PoE</summary>

If only **1x LAN** **with PoE** is available for the control system, it is recommended to use a **PoE Extender** to connect both units as shown in the following figure.

For application upload and firmware update in both units, connect the PC to the **same **data network, either wired or wirelessly.

<details>
<summary>1x LAN no PoE</summary>

If only **1x LAN** **without PoE** is available for the control system, it is recommended to use a local small **PoE Switch** to connect both units as shown in the following figure. This option requires 110/230 VAC to power the PoE Switch.

For application upload and firmware update in both units, connect the PC to the **same **data network, either wired or wirelessly.

<details>
<summary>No LAN connection</summary>

> ⚠️ This wiring is not recommended because the control system cannot be centrally managed using a data network.

If the control system is **not connected to the LAN**, the local PoE Switch del figure must be used. This option requires 110/230 VAC to power the PoE Switch.

For application upload and firmware update in both units, connect the PC to the **same **PoE Swith.

> ℹ️ For this configuration, you must disable DHCP and set both units and PCs to **fixed IP addresses** on the same segment.

## Controlled devices connection

The [https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRODUCTS/pages/483295233](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRODUCTS/pages/483295233) controller offers various types of control ports. A description of the individual control ports for the correct connection of the controlled devices can be found in the following sections:
