# Introduction

Monitor & Control is a new technology that fully integrates the CUE control system and CUE Solution software. It offers tools for monitoring and control, and both parts can be freely combined. It offers tools for creating customized and complex user interfaces.

# How it works

The following block diagram describes how the whole system works.

Physical devices are connected to the control system units using all the ports offered by the control system.

The units are connected via IP to a server, which can be cloud-based or on-premise. The communication between the control system unit and the server is based on the **WebSocket **protocol, providing a two-way communication channel over a single TCP connection. This technology ensures minimum communication delay and, thus, immediate responses, an essential feature for device control.

The monitored data is passed to front-end applications that display it to the user in real time. At the same time, the monitored data is stored in a database and can be used for future analysis (now under development, it will be available in future versions).

In the case of control, the actions initiated by the user in the front-end application are transmitted via the server to the control system, where the appropriate processes and functions are started.

As a result, from the perspective of the control system, CUE Solution front-end applications act like touch panels or keyboards.
