Depending on the application, the **versatile port** can be used in the following multiple ways:

> Macro (toc)

> ⚠️ Warnings
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ - The port is protected to a **maximum of 30 VDC**. Exceeding this voltage may damage the port.
> ⚠️ - Incorrect wiring may damage the versatile port or the connected device.
> ⚠️ - All versatile ports in the unit have a common ground that is connected to the grounds of other control ports. That means versatile ports are not isolated from other control ports.

The following picture describes the connection of a versatile port for analog input and digital output usage.

# Digital input

The voltage input can sense digital signals from contact closures, switches, relays, logic level signals from motion detectors, partition sensors, alarm panels, triggers, energy meters, etc.).

> ℹ️ For digital input using the output has to be in an open state and current pull-up and current pull-down can be used.

**Parameters **of digital input:

- Input protected to 30 VDC / -12 VDC
- Input impedance >100 kΩ
- Adjustable digital filter
- Adjustable threshold

**Examples of use:**

# Digital pulse counter

This mode allows for the measurement of transitions from an inactive to an active level on a channel.

**Parameters **of digital pulse counter:

- Adjustable threshold and input impedance as f
- Pulse length min. 1 ms, max. frequency 500 Hz
- Max. number of pulses 2 147 483 647 (Long)
- Adjustable digital filter

**Examples of use:**

# Voltage input

The voltage input can sense analog signals from the DC voltage level or changes in resistance from volume control potentiometers, temperature and light sensors, water level meters, etc.

> ℹ️ For voltage input usage the output has to be in an open state.

**Parameters **of voltage input are as follows:

- Protected to 30 VDC maximum
- Range 0 ÷ 2.5 VDC, 0 ÷ 10 VDC, auto
- Input impedance >100 kΩ
- Resolution 10-bit
- Adjustable digital filter
- Accuracy ±1 % of range (digital filter applied)

**Examples of use:**

| **Connection** | **Usage** |
| --- | --- |
| ![image](media://03a12f07-c16d-4c4a-aa56-0910b5fdabf6) | Detecting a voltage from sensors with voltage output 0 - 10 VDC. |

# Resistance input

The resistance input can measure resistance e.g. from a room potentiometer for light, temperature, and volume control.

**Parameters **of resistance input are as follows:

- Range 2 kΩ , 20 kΩ , 200 kΩ , auto
- Resolution 10-bit

# Digital output

The digital output provides an on/off closure signal for driving a relay and trigger inputs from a variety of devices. For digital output, the **open collector** switch is used and the pull-up or pull-down current-source can be used.

**Parameters** of digital output are as follows:

- Open collector
- Max. sink current 200 mA / max. 30 VDC
- Catch diodes for use with inductive load
- Current-source pull-up 9 mA (max. 10 V)
