### Applet

A part of a program that performs specific tasks and runs within the context of a larger program, for example, the Sunrise/ Sunset Timer or the Simple Scheduler.

### Controller

The controller is a CUE device equipped with control ports running 2 runtime. The controller is programmed using CVC and it stores user applications.

### CUEdevice

The CUEdevice is a common name for all kinds of devices delivered by CUE which are not connected over a network system communication. This group of devices contains all units connected to CUEwire, PEbus, and to RS-232. Each CUEdevice is represented by a CUEdevice driver in Cue Visual Composer.

### CUEnet2

The CUEnet2 is an application IP protocol used for communication between CUEunits.

### CUEunit

The CUEunit is a common name for programmable units equipped with network system communication. This group of devices contains touch panels, touch panel controllers, and controllers.

### CUEwire

The CUEwire is a serial channel RS-485 (for data communication) and power supply of 24 VDC.

### Device

The Device is third-party controlled equipment represented by the device driver in Cue Visual Composer.

### Device driver

Part of 2 code which communicates with the controlled device.

### Graphic collection

Set of ready-to-use graphic objects which allows preparing the touch panel graphical interface.

### Interface

An interface is typically a unit with control ports that cannot be programmed. The interface has a fixed set of commands and can be connected using the IP network or serial channel.

### Light sensor

The Light sensor automatically adjusts the display backlight according to the ambient light level. This function has to be enabled using On Screen Display or Admin Web.

### PEbus

The PEbus is a serial channel RS-485 for data communication between the controller and interfaces, power switching units, dimmers, etc.

### Proximity sensor

The Motion sensor resumes the touch panel from Backlight Saver mode. This functionality can be enabled/disabled using On Screen Display or Admin Web.

### Side indicators

Two programmable RGB LED indicators are located on the left and right sides of the touch panel enclosure. A special command is available in the XPL2 programming language to control indicators.

For touchCUE-10, touchCUE-10-B and touchCUE-10-M only.

### System default button

When pressed the factory default function is performed. For factory default values see chapter Factory Default and System Default. A thin screwdriver is needed to press this button.

### Touch panel

The touch panel is a CUE product equipped with a graphic display and running XPL2 runtime. The touch panel is programmed using Cue Visual Composer and stores user applications.

### Touch panel controller

The touch panel controller is a CUE device with graphic display and control ports running XPL2 runtime. The touch panel controller is programmed using CVC and stores the user application.

### Touch-screen display

Touch-screen display with active matrix color LCD and resistive membrane touch overlay.

### Widget

A small fully functional application that can be inserted into a Cue Visual Composer project.
