## Prerequisites

Before proceeding to this part, make sure you are familiar with the information in **[Configuration for navigation - part 1](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/767426611)**.

## Procedure

We recommend starting with **CUE Assist** if you need to configure both **CUE Assist** and **CUE Navigation**. Choose the procedure that works best for you. Here is the most efficient way of configuration in our opinion.

> ℹ️ Remember that if you want to create or edit points and paths, you must be in **Edit mode**!

## Creating portals for passing between floors

### Creating portals for direct passing between floors

Portals created in this way cannot have a difficulty coefficient set. They are used when the building has only an elevator or only stairs.

- Go to **Smart building - Areas**
- Create a second floor with navigation points
  - [https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/767426611](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/767426611)

- **Create the Stairs 1st floor**
  - Create a navigation point near the stairs on the 1st floor
  - Assign it a QR code
    - In this step, you can also assign a category to the QR code (”stairs” in this case) to make the resulting navigation easier to operate
  - Assign it a license
  - Save the settings by clicking the :save: button

- **Create the Stairs 2nd floor**
  - In the same way, create the Stairs 2nd floor on the 2nd floor, don't save the changes yet
  - Click the Portals on the left side of your screen and select “Stairs 1st floor” from the drop-down list
    - This interconnects the points and makes them mutually walk-through
    - At the same time the Navigation point icon changes to :portal:
  - Save the settings by clicking the :save: button

### Creating portals to navigate through the building cross-section

This allows you to set the difficulty coefficient. This method is suitable for buildings with both elevator and stairs. For example, it is harder to climb the stairs to the sixth floor than to take the elevator.

![image-20240320-080134.png](media://360ea164-e1f6-45cd-86a8-15021a435922)

- **Create two navigation points near the stairs**
  - Create points as described above, but do not connect them with portals

- **Create two navigation points in the building cross-section** (Stairs - 1st floor, Stairs - 2nd floor)
  - Create points at floor level on the first and on the second floor
  - Assign it a QR code
    - You can also assign a category to the QR code (for example “Stairs”) to make the resulting navigation easier to operate
    - QR codes must have unique names, but also name them so you know what they belong to
    - We recommend naming, for example
      - on the individual floor: “**Stairs 1st floor**”
      - in the building cross-section: “**Stairs - 1st floor**”
  - Save the settings

> ℹ️ The points in the building cross-section do not need to be assigned a licence

- **Connect the points with a portal between the building cross-section and the floor**
  - Select the point in the building cross-section Stairs - 1st floor
  - Click the Portals on the left side of your screen and select “Stairs 1st floor” from the drop-down list
  - Save
  - Do the same for the second floor

- **Connect the points on the building cross-section with a path**
  - Choose Navigation path :path: from the toolbar and connect the points on the building cross-section

- **Create navigation points for the elevator in the same way**

### Setting the path difficulty coefficient

- Go to **Smart building - Areas - Editor**
- In Edit mode, click the given path
- Letters A and B will appear next to the points that are connected by the path you have selected
  - The points are then used to determine the directionality (it's easier to walk down the stairs than up)
- A window for setting path properties appears on the right
- Fill in
  - Name
  - Difficulty coefficient forward (A -> B)
    - Determines the difficulty of the path from point A to point B
    - Values can be entered in decimal format
  - Difficulty coefficient backward (B -> A)
    - Determines the difficulty of the path from point B to point A
    - Values can be entered in decimal format
- Save

> ℹ️ The coefficient works as a multiplier of the path length. So if a path has a length of 5 m at a coefficient of 1, then at a coefficient of 5 the navigation will internally treat it as a distance of 25 m. This allows the navigation system to determine whether to guide you to the elevator or the stairs.

> ℹ️ We recommend the following coefficients, which have been proven to work well for us. Of course, it also depends on your preferences (whether you want people to use stairs or lifts more, etc.)
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Escalators - 1.5
> ℹ️ Elevators - 2
> ℹ️ Stairs up - 6
> ℹ️ Stairs down - 3

### Hiding a path in the navigation route

- Go to **Smart building - Areas - Editor**
- In Edit mode, click the given path
- The path property settings window opens on the right
  - Select the option “Hide in navigation route” (at the bottom of the settings window) by ticking the checkmark
  - Save
- Now the path won´t be displayed on the building cross-section during navigation

> ℹ️ **This parameter should be used for portal paths** (e.g. elevator between floors) because it makes the resulting navigation clearer.

### Barrier setting of the path

- Go to **Smart building - Areas - Editor**
- For demonstration we will use the points “Stairs - 1st floor” and “Stairs - 2nd floor” and the path between them
- Click the path between the points
- The path property settings window opens on the right
  - Select the option “Not barrier free” (at the bottom of the settings window) by ticking the checkmark
  - Save
- Now the path is barrier
  - Navigation will not take it into account if the user is set to search for wheelchair-accessible routes

> ℹ️ **Any drawn path is barrier-free by default**

> ℹ️ If a barrier-free route is not found in the navigation, a barrier route is shown and the user is informed by a text message

- More information on setting path properties can be found [here](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/1431502850).

### Creating a kiosk

- Go to **Smart building - Kiosks**
- To add a new kiosk, click the :new: button

  - Select the root area of the kiosk
    - Determines which areas and their resources will be viewable on the kiosk
      - For example, there is one building in London and one in Paris and I don't want to see the area/resources from London on the Kiosk in Paris
  - Fill in the Text for scan QR code
    - The text is displayed on the kiosk next to the QR code
    - If you don't fill in the field, the default text “Continue with web navigation” is used

- In the Reset function after inactivity section:
  - By checking the Enable option you can set whether to reset the kiosk when inactive
    - Clears the searched route and filters, restores language settings and route type
  - Show countdown - here you can set how long it takes to start the reset countdown
  - Reset after countdown show - here you can set how long the countdown should run before resetting

- Support all POIs / resources in root area
  - Leave it checked if you want to keep all resources from the selected root area and their sub areas traceable on the kiosk
  - Uncheck the option if you need to hide some resources for the kiosk
    - The new **POI assignment** tab will come up above
      - Select the resources that you want to be traceable and usable on the kiosk
- Save

### Kiosk location on the map

    - This way you can upload any number of images, videos and any combination of them
  - Save the settings by clicking the :save: button

> ℹ️ Images and videos will be displayed in the order in which they were uploaded to the system.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ When displaying a single image, you can enter any length of the showtime.
