This section is used to configure email communication in CUE Calendar, including the recipients and content of event invitations and cancellation notifications, the SMTP server used for sending emails, and the handling of attendee responses. These settings determine who receives the notifications, how they are formatted, and whether attendees are required to confirm their participation.

## Invitation

The *Invitation* tab defines how email invitations and cancellation notifications are generated and sent to users, including their content and delivery options.

### Send to

The drop-down menu allows notification recipients to be specified. Emails can be sent either to attendees only or to both attendees and the organizer.

### RSVP - Require a response

Specifies whether recipients are expected to respond to the invitation and confirm their attendance at the event.

**Service account (Organizer name)**

Specifies the display name of the notification email sender as shown to recipients.

### Email

**Subject template / Body template**

These fields define the subject and body templates for email invitations. By default, the invitation content reflects the information entered by the organizer when creating the reservation. The {eventSubject} placeholder is replaced with the original reservation subject, while {eventBody} is replaced with the original reservation description. Both templates can be customized as required.

The default settings can be restored at any time using the :resettodefault: button.

### Canceled event by user

**Subject template / Body template**

These fields define the subject and body templates for cancellation emails. As with the invitation templates described above, placeholders can be used to customize the content. The default settings can be restored at any time using the :resettodefault: button.

## SMTP

The *SMTP* tab is used to configure and test the connection to the mail server through which CUE Calendar sends event invitations and cancellation notifications.

### Enable SMTP

When selected, email sending via the SMTP server is enabled.

### Copy values from CA for sending emails

The :insert: button retrieves the SMTP server address, port, secure connection settings, sender email address, and username from the selected connection agent. The password is not transferred.

### From account

Specifies the email address used to send outgoing emails.

### Host

Specifies the address of the SMTP server used to send emails.

### Port

Specifies the port used by the SMTP server.

### Use secure connection (SSL/TLS)

When selected, an encrypted connection to the SMTP server is enabled, protecting login credentials and the content of outgoing emails during transmission.

### Username

Specifies the username used to authenticate with the SMTP server.

### Password

Field for entering the password used to authenticate with the SMTP server.

> ℹ️ For Gmail SMTP, an app password must be used, as described here [https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en](https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en)

### Test send email

**Recipient for test email**

Make sure the information you enter is correct and matches your authorization information for the SMTP server. Sending a test email will help you detect any setup errors.

This field allows an email address to be entered for receiving a test email. The xy button sends the test email to the specified address to verify that the SMTP settings are configured correctly.

Any changes to the settings must be saved using the :save: button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
