A path represents a connection between two points (e.g. POIs, rooms and floors) that can be used for navigation. Where applicable, each path can be configured with individual parameters, such as difficulty level or accessibility. Paths are part of the navigation system and allow the calculation of the optimal route.


### Path parameters

Only paths with all required parameters assigned are displayed in this overview:

- **Name**
  - Path name (not required to be unique)
    

- **Difficulty coefficient forward**
  - Defines the difficulty level of the path in one direction (from start point A to end point B).
  - For example, walking upstairs may have a higher value than walking along a flat corridor.
    
- **Difficulty coefficient backward**
  - Defines the difficulty level of the path in the opposite direction (from end point B to start point A).
  - For example, walking downstairs may be less difficult than walking upstairs.
    
- **Hide in navigation route**
  - Used to prevent the path from being displayed in the building cross-section during navigation (e.g., an elevator between floors that could visually clutter the map).
    
- **Not barrier free**
  - If wheelchair-accessible route search is enabled, this path is excluded from route calculation.
  - This typically applies to stairs or other inaccessible areas.


### How to create and edit a path


Paths can only be created in *Smart building* → *Areas* → *Editor*.

Path parameters can also be subsequently edited or deleted in both the Editor and this section. If all parameters are removed from a path, it will no longer be displayed in the overview.
