This chapter describes the steps required to activate an NFC card that will be used by the user to create reservations for resources such as offices, meeting rooms, or other shared spaces.

## Prerequisites

- A panel with an NFC reader is available
- The panel is assigned to a unity in <u>[CUE Solution](https://docs.cuesystem.com/space/Dep/151781380)</u>
- The user has an active PIN (for more information on how to set up a PIN, see [here](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/701693995/Single+user+edit#PIN-code))

> ℹ️ Make sure that in CUE Admin, the **Use NFC** checkbox is selected for all units where the user is allowed to use an NFC card.

## Procedure

To activate the NFC card, the user needs to complete a short verification process directly at the resource panel. The card can be activated on any panel with an NFC reader.

- The user approaches the resource (for example, a meeting room or office) equipped with an NFC-enabled control panel.
- The user holds the NFC card close to the panel’s reader.
- The display prompts the user to enter the PIN previously provided by the administrator.
- After entering the correct PIN, the system verifies the card and completes the activation process.
- Once the activation is successful, the user can immediately perform standard reservation operations on the panel.
- From this point on, all actions can be confirmed simply by presenting the NFC card to the reader. Entering the PIN again is no longer required for regular use.

This procedure ensures that the NFC card is securely linked to the user’s identity and that only authorized users can perform resource-related reservation operations.
