Media templates define reusable sets of images and videos that can be assigned to resources. They are used to ensure consistent media presentation across similar resources while significantly speeding up media configuration in the resource detail.

A media template stores media items, preserving their sequence and structure. In the resource detail, selecting a media template inserts it into the selected media list as a single template placeholder. This placeholder carries the entire template media set into the resource’s media composition, ensuring that image order, cover behavior, and external links (such as Matterport links) remain aligned and consistent across all related resources.

## Where media template settings take effect

### In CUE Assist

Media from assigned templates is included in resource media shown in Location details.

**Usage Examples**

- Showing room photos from one template in location detail.
- Showing a guided visual sequence by the order configured in the template.
- Reusing one visual set across many bookable resources.

**How it works**

- Resource media output includes template media assigned to the resource.
- Image behavior settings (cover fit and position) are respected for every media item.
- Matterport links are treated as dedicated media items where configured.

### In CUE Navigation

Media from assigned templates is available in resource detail.

**Usage Examples**

- Showing location photos while selecting a destination.
- Presenting visual information for resource detail.
- Showing a 3D walkthrough link for selected resources.

**How it works**

- Navigation receives media connected to the resource through assigned templates.
- Template item order is preserved in the resulting resource media sequence.
- Matterport links and video files are included according to item type.

### In WebApps

Template media can be used as a media source for resource cards/details where resource image data is resolved.

**Usage Examples**

- Showing a representative resource visual in map-based interfaces.
- Keeping visual identity consistent across map and navigation-facing outputs.

**How it works**

- Resource media resolution can use media from assigned templates.
- The resulting media item behavior follows the media metadata configured in the template.

## Media templates by media content

### Image items

**Usage Examples**

- Room photo galleries.
- Visual orientation photos.

**How it works**

- Image items support fit behavior and image position.
- Image items can include an optional Matterport URL.

### Video items

**Usage Examples**

- Short room walkthrough video.
- Orientation clip for large spaces.

**How it works**

- Video files can be part of the template media sequence.

### Matterport-linked items

**Usage Examples**

- 3D room tour available from media detail.

**How it works**

- A Matterport URL can be assigned per image item.

## Media templates settings overview

This section provides an overview of the settings screen. Here you can define new templats and edit existing ones.

### Toggle switch :toggle:

**Why it is used**

To focus the grid either on all templates or only currently selected rows.

**How it works**

- *All* shows complete grid data.
- *Selected* limits the grid view to selected rows, which can be chosen by checking the corresponding checkbox in the second column.

### Expand all / Collapse all

:expand: :collapse: Clicking the button expands or collapses all template media detail rows.

> ℹ️ The button toggles between *Expand all* and *Collapse all* depending on the current state, allowing the list to be expanded or collapsed as needed.

### Name

Displays the name of the media template. The grid supports sorting and filtering by name. Clicking the filter icon opens a dropdown menu where you can select the desired filtering criteria.

### Detail row of a Media template

#### How it works

Expanding the selected row in the list reveals additional information:

- *Thumbnail* - displays a thumbnail image
- *Name* - displays the name of the image
- *Fit: prefer cover* - indicates which media items have this option enabled
- *Matterport* - displays a link to the corresponding Matterport

## Adding a new media template

A new media template can be added by clicking the :new: button in the upper-right corner of the screen. The *New media template* window opens. Follow the instructions below.

![image-20260319-151824.png](media://ba5446e3-8048-4dad-b208-3af66fd34f65)

### Name

Enter the name of the new media template here.

### Upload New Image or Video

Add any number of files by clicking the :selectfile: button repeatedly. Upload the files by clicking the :upload: button.

> ℹ️ Supported media formats include .png, .svg, .jpg, .webp, and .mp4.

**Fit: Prefer cover** controls how the image is displayed within its container. When enabled by ticking the checkbox, the image is scaled to fill the entire available area while maintaining its aspect ratio. This ensures that no empty space is visible, but parts of the image may be cropped if necessary. Additional position controls define which part of the image remains visible when cropping occurs. This allows you to prioritize the most important area of the image across different screen sizes and layouts.

**Matterport** is a platform for creating interactive 3D virtual tours of real-world spaces, allowing users to explore environments online as if they were physically present. If you have a Matterport link available, attach it to the corresponding image by clicking the :matterport: button.

### Select Existing Image

Images previously uploaded to CUE Admin can also be selected from the dropdown menu.

Click the :save: button** **to save the new media template or the :backtolist: button to leave the window without saving.

## Editing a media template

Clicking the :upravit1: button on the right of the row allows the corresponding media template to be edited (e.g., rename it, upload new images, etc.)

## Deleting a media template

Clicking the :bin: button on the right of the row allows the corresponding media template to be deleted. A deleted template is removed from all locations in the applications where it was used.
