Monitor&Control App is a web application for controlling “controllable objects” linked to a specific QR code (POI). In CUE Admin, under Applications -> Monitor&Control App, you manage individual instances of this application (URL, QR binding, CUEunit display and side LED behavior, licenses, assignment to unit / unit client).

## Usage Modes and Licensing

1. **Standalone URL in a web browser**
Requires a Monitor&Control App license and a Third-party device license.
2. **In CUEunit**
Only a Monitor&Control App license is required.

## What It Is Used For

- Linking a project instance to a QR code through which controllable objects are loaded.
- Configuring CUEunit behavior (display + side LED) for the given instance.
- Assigning an instance to a specific unit or unit client (browser/non-CUE devices).

## Where the Settings Take Effect

In the running Monitor&Control application (/apps/monitor-control/{appId}):

- based on appId, the instance detail and list of controllable objects are loaded,
- display/LED configuration is loaded based on instance settings,
- if no licensed QR code is available or no objects exist, the app ends in an error state.

## Admin Screen Overview

### Monitor&Control App list

- Name (unique)
  - Name of a specific Control&Monitor app.
- Unit
  - Which CUE Unit the Control&Monitor app is connected to.
- QR Code name
  - Defines which objects the Control&Monitor app will display.
  - Objects are linked to a specific QR code, see the [Projects chapter](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/1374781487) for more details.
- Actions: New, Edit, Delete, Copy link, Open in new tab.
- The **All / Selected** switch limits the grid to selected rows only.

### Instance Detail (General)

- **Name (unique)** - required, uniqueness is validated.
- **CUEunit / Unit client** - mutually exclusive.
- **Zoom** - required, range 50-200%
  - allows adapting the UI to any display device and its resolution
- **QR code** - selection of POI/QR binding for Monitor&Control.
- **CUEunit settings**
  - Display
    - Defines whether the display should stay on, or when it should be turned off.
  - Side LED indication
    - Settings for side LEDs.
  - Timetable fields are enabled only when “according to timetable” is selected. More about timetable settings here.
- **Licenses**
  - Allows managing licenses of a specific Control&Monitor App.
  - The section is displayed only when license validities are available.

## Adding a New Monitor&Control App

1. Open Applications -> Monitor&Control App.
2. Click New.
3. Fill in at least:
  - Name (unique),
  - optionally CUEunit or Unit client,
  - Zoom (default 100%),
  - recommended: QR code.
4. Set Display and Side LED + optional Timetables.
5. (Optional) select licenses.
6. Click Save.

## Editing

- In the list, click Edit.
- Change required fields and save.
- The instance URL (/apps/monitor-control/{id}) remains on the same id.

## Deleting

- Click Delete in a row or in bulk and confirm the dialog.
- The instance and related assignments are removed.

## Important Notes

- Admin allows saving an instance without QR, but then the app has no source for loading objects.
- Functionality depends on:
  - Monitor&Control license,
  - QR (POI) license/validity,
  - object permissions for device/unit.
  - More information about licenses [here](https://www.cuesystem.com/how-to-buy/)
- Branding and runtime languages are managed centrally (System/Design + Languages).
- If CUE Unit with the project is not running or not assigned, the app will not start.
