A new code can be created by clicking the :new: button in the upper-left corner of the screen. In the *General* tab of the form, enter the required information. Additional settings related to authenticated users can be found in the *Permissions* tab.

## General tab

### Code

The code is a unique numeric identifier. It is generated automatically once a new POI is created.

### Unique name

Enter the name of the new resource property here. Names can be defined in multiple [languages](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/1139867653). When this option is available, a small language tab with a flag icon appears next to the name field, allowing you to enter different language versions.

> ℹ️ If a specific *Purpose* is selected in the lower part of the window, the QR code name is then generated automatically after clicking the :generatename: button.

### Display name

The display name is shown in the navigation in the list of start and target locations. If it is not filled in, the unique name is shown instead.

### Map name

Map name is displayed in the navigation map at the POI’s location, provided the corresponding option is selected in CUE Admin under *Show on the floorplan*. If it is not filled in, the unique name is shown instead.

### Tags

If one or more tags are entered, the POI can be found in navigation by using a tag as the start or target location.

### Latitude/Longitude

Here, you can enter latitude and longitude, if applicable.

### License

Select the appropriate license based on the intended use of the POI. An overview of the available license types and their features can be found [here](https://docs.cuesystem.com/space/LM/923271334/POI+licenses%E2%80%8B).

> ℹ️ A POI **without an assigned license** will not be functional for the navigation and Monitor&Control functions!

### Display settings

Tick or select from the drop-down menu the options that match your requirements for the properties of the given POI:

- **Is not a navigation point** - select this option to hide a specific POI from end users in navigation or prevent them from being offered in the list of starts and targets (e.g., certain portal POIs in a building cross-section)

- **Show in start list **-** **select this option to allow searching for a start location by the POI name

- **Show in target list **-** **select this option to allow searching for a target location by the POI name

- **Show also separately **- select this option to display both the POI and its assigned resource in navigation search

- **Redirect to resource **- select this option to display the assigned resource detail when clicking on the POI on the map

- **Show in resource detail **- select this option to display the POI name and category in the resource detail in navigation

- **Show code in POI detail **- select this option to display the POI numeric code in the POI detail in navigation

- **Show on the floorplan** - select one of the options from the drop-down menu to define how the POI is displayed on the map (e.g. not displayed, category icon only, icon and POI name, etc.).

> ℹ️ If a POI has no category assigned and the option *Only category icon* is selected, a default icon is shown.

- **Show on the floorplan in active detail **- select an option from the drop-down menu to define which POI information is displayed on the map in navigation when the POI is selected

- **Show on the floorplan above start or target icon **- select this option to display the defined information for the POI on the map in navigation when setting a route to or from it

- **Zoom POIs with floorplan **- select this option to enable the POI icon to scale with the map

> ℹ️ The :reset: button restores the setting to the default defined in the *Smart building/Areas/ Floorplan* configuration. If a specific setting is defined there and no custom value is set for the POI, the Floorplan setting is applied. If a custom setting is defined for the POI, it takes precedence over the Floorplan configuration.

- **POI size coeficient **- here, you can set the size at which the POI is displayed on the map (adjustable values range from a minimum of 0.1 to a maximum of 4)

> ℹ️ **Show also separately**, **Redirect to resource** and **Show in resource detail** are available only for POIs assigned to a resource. Otherwise, they are disabled.

### Purpose

Select an option from the drop-down menu, if applicable. This setting determines how the QR code behaves after being scanned in the CUE solution.

- **Resource** - for a QR code assigned to a specific resource and used for reservation or navigation

- **News** - for a QR code that displays a message or information after scanning

- **Kiosk** - for a QR code assigned to a specific kiosk

- **Unit **- for a QR code assigned to a specific unit

- **Objects **- for a QR code assigned to a specific Monitor&Control feature (select the required features by clicking the :edit2: button and then checking the corresponding options in the table that appears)

### Category

Select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu. A filter by POI categories can be used in navigation when searching for a start or target locations.

For instructions on how to set POI categories, see [here](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AYBQLg).

### Image

Here you can upload an image or select an existing one from the library. The image will be displayed in the navigation in the POI detail.

## Permissions tab

You can hide any POI so that it is not visible in anonymous navigation mode (i.e. it will not appear on the map or in the start and target list), or you can hide some of its attributes listed below.

Select any number of options that should not be visible to non-authenticated users.

- **In navigation** - The POI will not appear on the map or in the list of start and target locations.

- **Display name** - If this option is selected, a field appears where you can enter an alternative display name. The POI will then be displayed under this name in navigation for non-authenticated users.

- **POI category **-** **Select this option to hide the POI category.

- **Image **-** **Select this option to hide the POI image.
