User groups allow users to be organized into groups and their permissions for calendar events to be managed collectively. For example, a work team can be organized into a group whose members can view each other’s public events, while group owners can also be granted permission to edit these events.

### Adding a New User group

A new user group can be added by clicking the :new: button. The following settings are defined for each group:

- **Name**
- **Public** – When selected, the group is visible to users who are not members of the group.
- **Members are public** – When selected, the members of a public group are also visible to users outside the group.
- **Owner** – A group can have one or more owners. Additional owners can be added using the :new:button. a group owner can manage the group without being a member and can create or edit events for group members. The owner is not automatically added to events created by members, cannot be found by them using the *Find a Colleague* feature, and their own events are not displayed to group members.
- **Access rules** – Define permissions for viewing and editing other group members’ public and private events. Permissions can be configured separately for group owners and members, allowing, for example, owners to edit team events while members can only view them.

> ℹ️ Some permissions are interdependent. Enabling editing of public events automatically enables viewing them. Enabling editing of private events activates all three remaining permissions in the corresponding section. These automatically enabled permissions cannot be disabled individually while the higher-level permission remains active.

- **Members** – Users assigned to the group who can be granted specific permissions. Group members are added on the *Members* tab by selecting the checkbox next to each required user.

### Editing a User group

An existing user group can be edited using the :upravit1: button.

### Deleting a User group

An existing user group can be deleted using the :smazat1: button next to the corresponding group. To delete multiple groups at once, the required groups can be selected using the checkboxes in the list and then deleted using the :delete2: button in the upper-left corner of the screen.

**Edit public events**

- Allows the group owner or members to edit public events created by other group members. Events can be opened for editing by clicking on them in the *Timeline*.

**Read private events**

- Provides the same functionality as the permission to view public events, but also includes private events.

**Edit private events**

- Provides the same functionality as the permission to edit public events, but also includes private events.

Access rules are interdependent. The following conditions apply:

- Editing events requires the corresponding read permission.
- Access to private events requires the corresponding permission for public events.

These dependencies are automatically enforced by CUE Admin based on the selected access rules.
