A floor plan is an image that represents an area, such as a floor, building, or a selected part of a larger space.

On a floor plan, you can place resources and define navigation elements.

## How to upload a floor plan

- Go to *Smart Building → Areas* and click on the area where you want to upload a floor plan. Switch to the *Floorplan* tab.

- **Upload a floor plan file**:
  - The recommended maximum floor plan size is 6000 × 6000 px, with a maximum file size of 15 MB. Supported image formats include .svg, .jpg, .png, and .webp.
  - If the file is an SVG, the root element must have the attributes **viewBox**, **width**, and **height** set. The values of width and height must correctly correspond to the parameters in the viewBox.

- **Map scale in meter/unit**
  - The scale is set to 1 by default. If a scaled floor plan is available, you can enter the scale here. Otherwise, set the scale later in the Editor.

- **Zoom POIs with floorplan**
  - Select the option that best suits your navigation requirements.

- **Disable floorplan rotation**
  - If the *Map engine* in *Application *→* Navigation* on General tab is set to *OpenLayers*, floor plan rotation is enabled by default during active navigation (e.g. on a smartphone).
  - For more information on General setting tab, see [here](https://cue.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TAM/pages/468975633/Navigation#General-settings-tab).

- **POI size coeficient**
  - You can use any value from 0.1 to 4 to adjust the size of POIs displayed on the floor plan according to your needs.

- **Zoom level in navigation**
  - These parameters can be configured when uploading a floor plan; these are set to default values initially. It is recommended to first place all navigation elements on the floor plan and adjust these parameters afterward based on the desired behavior.
  - The optimal settings depend on factors such as the size and level of detail of the floor plan, so they should be fine-tuned once the navigation elements are in place.

> ℹ️ You can return to these floor plan settings at any time and adjust them to achieve the desired navigation behavior.

## Where floor plans appear

Users can encounter floor plans in:

- **CUE Navigation**
  - Here, floor plans form the primary environment in which you navigate along defined paths between the start and target points.

- **CUE Assist**
  - When selecting a resource for reservation using the *New Reservation *→* Floorplans* option
  - During the reservation process, in the *Location detail *of the selected resource
  - In navigation, accessible to authenticated users via the *Navigate* option in the side menu.

> ℹ️ Floor plans are used throughout CUE Assist and CUE Navigation and are an essential part of both applications. **The more carefully the floor plans are prepared and the more accurately they reflect the real-world environment**, the easier it will be for users to work with these applications.
